H.E. Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz

His Excellency Dr Omar Al-Razzaz is the 42nd Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He was appointed by the King as Prime Minister on 14 June 2018 after serving as Minister of Education for a year and a half.

HE Dr Al-Razzaz holds a PhD in Planning, with a minor in Economics, from Harvard University. He holds a master’s degree in City Planning from MIT and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the American University of Beirut. He completed his post-doctorate at Harvard Law School.

Between 2002 and 2006, HE Dr Al-Razzaz served as the Country Manager of the World Bank in Lebanon’s country office, after which he accepted a public sector leadership position in Jordan as the Director General of the Social Security Corporation until 2010. In 2011, he led national efforts to develop Jordan’s National Employment Strategy 2020.
